The cell aims to create an ecosystem that strives to deliver service excellence.

A Services Innovation Cell (SIC) will soon be set up at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and IBM. The cell aims to create an ecosystem that strives to deliver service excellence.
Its plan includes floating student projects and case studies, helping develop curriculum and conducting training programmes for faculty members and service professionals.The cell will be inaugurated on November 28.
Siddhanth Khosla, a final-year MBA student at FMS and president of the cell, stated: "The projects will provide opportunities for students to work on service sector projects. Faculty members would also participate as project guides and help the students learn from their invaluable experience." These projects would focus on creating innovative solutions to real world problems and challenge students with practical problems.
Elaborating on the content of the curriculum Nikhil Aggarwal, first-year student, FMS, said the case studies would be discussed with an aim to create a repository of service sector management cases in the Indian context, so that problems and solutions are easily available. "CII would also put in touch the students writing the case studies with their members associated with the service sector," he added.

IBM would further facilitate curriculum development at FMS to help develop courseware for service management topics. "IBM in association with SIC would help conduct training programmes for faculty and service professionals on innovation topics," said a member of the project team.
SIC's office at FMS would have three IBM system servers. CII and IBM will jointly issue a certificate of participation to all students working on the projects under SIC. "Both students and faculty are excited about the cell,’’ said Ankita Mehta, second-year student, FMS.
